چکیده

A field-sequential colour projection system can display colour images using a single panel. Such a system, however, produces characteristic trichromatic separation, or ‘‘colour breakup’’. Colour breakup is the perceived splitting of the white portions of an image into its red, green, and blue components when the image is projected with the colour sequential method and the viewer’s eyes are moving rapidly. Viewing images containing colour breakup may cause visual fatigue and other symptoms of asthenopia. In this study, the authors examine the various subjective symptoms of asthenopia that can be caused by colour breakup. 2007 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

On Sequential Optimality Conditions without Constraint Qualifications for Nonlinear Programming with Nonsmooth Convex Objective Functions

Sequential optimality conditions provide adequate theoretical tools to justify stopping criteria for nonlinear programming solvers. Here, nonsmooth approximate gradient projection and complementary approximate Karush-Kuhn-Tucker conditions are presented. These sequential optimality conditions are satisfied by local minimizers of optimization problems independently of the fulfillment of constrai...

Quality, productivity, occupational health and safety and cost effectiveness of ergonomic improvements in the test workstations of an electronic factory

An ergonomic study was conducted to improve the workstations for electrical tests in a printed circuit assembly (PCA) factory in an industrially developing country (IDC). Subjective assessment and direct observation methods were used on the operators to discover the problems in their workstations. The problems found were: (i) poor workstation design, (ii) mix-up of tested and untested boards, (...

Ergonomic evaluation of workstations in industry with emphasis on economic considerations (Case Study: Automotive Industry)

Background and Aim: Annually, a percentage of the profits from the sale of goods and services by producers are spent on costs of musculoskeletal disorders due to non-compliance with ergonomic conditions. These costs are not favorable for organizations and employees and in most cases, ergonomic risk factors affect the quality of life of employees. Methods: The present field study was conducted ...

An Experimental Assessment of Compression Ratio and Evaluation of Aluminium Cylinder Head in Bi-Fuel(Gasoline+CNG) Engines

The first step in dealing with the behavior of an engine on NG mode is the installation of a suitable gas fueling system on the engine. Two generations of gas fueling systems which were studied and installed on research engine were Mixer type and Sequential system type. The results, including performance, emissions and fuel consumption, were recorded and analyzed. The results showed that the...
